Chevron Fold

The Creative Inkster Chevron Fold Card
One of the amazing things about attending a Stampin’ Up! event is swapping cards with other demonstrators! In Toronto this month, I received this card from Kimberley Stevenson of Creativity with Kim. I love the birds but it was the fold on the left that caught my eye! This is called the Chevron Fold. Basically you stack 5 pieces (or as many as fit your layer) 2.5” wide x .75” tall. Fold the end flaps over so as to create the chevron pattern! It looks like a super fancy origami type fold but it’s so easy!

Brightly Gleaming Gift Card Holder

The Creative Inkster Gift Card Holder
Today’s Christmas Card Class featured the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper (sold out – sorry) and matching stamp set and punch bundle #153006 $67.50. To thank my ladies for coming, I gave them each the gift card holder pictured here. Can you say WOW with the copper ornament! I used our Copper Foil Paper that was embossed with the Hammered Metal 3D folder #150646 $12.25.
The creative Inkster Gift Card Holder
Here’s an inside view of the gift card holder. Where you see the pink, orange, green strip to the left of the greeting is my business card which is where you would insert your gift card. Super quick and easy: Here are the measurements:
Card Base: 10.75” x 4.25”
Score at 5.75” and 8.25”
Fold over the small panel and add your DSP. Punch a half circle with the 1/2” circle punch then glue down top and bottom edges to form the flap.
The DSP measures: 2.5”, x 4” for front; 2.25” x 4″ for the inside left panel and 5.25” x 4”’ for the inside right panel. I added a piece of Very Vanilla to stamp on that was 2.25” x 3.75”.

Fancy Fold: Buckle Card

The Creative Inkster Buckle Fold Card
I love this one because it’s super easy to do and I can make gift card holders out of the design so easily! You will need the Classic Label Punch #141491 $24 (or similarly long and skinny punch or die) to make the little pocket the buckle slides into.

Thanks to Lisa Curcio for this great card:

Fancy Fold: Secret Message Card

The Creative Inkster Secret Message Card
Now this card is truly ingenious! When opened, the usual message appears but wait – fold it again and a secret message is revealed. Magic! The supplies used are really quite simple – basic card base, a layer of cardstock and Designer Series Paper and message on the front. The fun you will have picking out sentiments or images for your secret message is the key to this fancy fold card.

Check out this video tutorial for all the how-to’s:

Tip: I did not measure the slit cuts with a ruler…I went all rogue and free hand cut them!

Fancy Fold: Twisted GateFold Card

The Creative Inkster Twisted Gatefold Card
Another fancy fold card I taught me team this month is the Diagonal Gatefold Card. It fits in a standard envelope but packs a real WOW when it comes to card making! What a great way to show off our beautiful Christmastime is Here Speciality Designer Series Paper #  $20 for 12 sheets.
Here’s where I found the basic instructions on how to make this card…however I sized mine to be 8 ¼” x 5 ½:

Fancy Fold: The Never Ending Card

The Creative Inkster Never Ending Card
As a seasoned card maker you may have seen the Never Ending Card or even made one yourself! It’s been years since I last attempted it but for tonight’s team stampin’ social, we’re doing it! It takes less time, effort, scoring and paper than you would think. One of the best tutorials I’ve seen – and the one I followed this time – is by Dawn Griffith of Dawn’s Stamping Thoughts. Here’s the link:

To decorate, you can use any Designer Series Paper packs ($15.75 or $20). Check them out HERE

I used the NEW and available until Nov 30, 2019 or while supplies last, Christmastime is Here Suite.

Give this a try and let me know how it goes!

Let It Ride

The Creative Inkster Let It Ride
There’s something supremely majestic about horses. While I’m severely allergic, we did once live on a farm in my late teens and I learned to ride. Now I kind of look at them from afar! My thanks to Lisa Henderson for making this card for a recent swap among our Silvers Supporting Silvers Facebook Group! Beautiful layers in earthy tones of Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake and Whisper White with a hint of DSP in the banner that looks a bit like barn wood. The stamp set used is Let It Ride #148765 $33 complete with 3 images of horses, some trees and 5 greetings. Enjoy!

Sending Warm Christmas Wishes

The Creative Inkster Rustic Retreat

Many of us still send Christmas cards out – THANK YOU as that keeps me in business! And make our own, of course! When you have a long list of recipients you need a card that packs a punch but doesn’t take too long to make. Here’s one of those cards! The stamp set is Rustic Retreat #150285 $33 with the beautiful home and trees stamp plus the perfect greeting for everyone on your list. Added to this is a banner piece in Early Espresso and a few self-adhesive (time saver!) sequins, a bit of colour on the trees and inexpensive Baker’s Twine and you’ve got yourself a quick and simple Christmas card. Thank you to my friend Tamara Bertram for this pretty card received in our Holiday Catalogue Swap!

Always a Good Catch

The Creative Inkster Best Catch

One of the many good things about participating in a card swap is getting samples using stamp sets that you don’t own (yet)! Such is the case with today’s creation using the Best Catch stamp set #148598 $27. This is THE stamp set for the fisherman or fisherwoman in your life! As a child I spent many Saturday mornings fishing with my dad in upstate New York while we were camping. Loved our time together and we even caught fish once in a while! I’d definitely share this with him were he still with us. If you have a special memory of fishing or have someone in your life who enjoys this pastime, grab up this set. It’s one of our DistINKtive line because the images are manufactured to have incredible small details as on the fishhook, bass, hat and basket. Thank you, Cindy Piggott for this beautiful card!

Calling all Dog Lover’s

The Creative Inkster Happy Tails
Dog Lovers will for sure enjoy today’s card  made using Happy Tails #148682 $22 which is a super bargain given it has 16 stamps in the set, 6 of which are greetings! There is a matching Dog Builder Punch #148543 $24. To get the reverse image of the dog, stamp on your Silicone Craft Sheet #127853 $8.25. While it’s still wet, lay a piece of cardstock over the image and press carefully. You can then punch or hand-cut out the dog facing the other way. Takes a few tries so you get enough ink to match the intended facing version… but well worth the time to make this adorable card!
